18 Feb Project Managers…you are in short supply!
Many firms are looking for great project managers to add to existing teams. Great project managers, ones who can keep deliverables on track, maintaining design and quality standards, while achieving the financial performance a firm desires are in short supply.
Great project managers have some key traits – here are three:
1) Delivery: A great PM thinks about project delivery and not just project management. This will include collaboration beyond the team producing the work. They will empower those outside of the project team to aid in the delivery knowing success rests in the hands of many, from finance and the office administrator, through to senior leadership.
2) Leadership: A great PM will inspire others to follow on a journey for the needs of client, the firm, and those that support the project delivery. They will recognize the contributions of others.
3) Knowledge: A great PM will continually look to past performance and make improvements. They will find ways to be better than before and likely hold themselves to a high standard.
To become a great PM takes more than training, it takes commitment. To find a great PM, look for these traits.
